3 WAYS TO REPAIR A TRENCHLESS SEWER LINE - zippyplumber

|

Many people don’t know what trenchless plumbing is. This article will help you understand the various types of repairs that are possible and how to find a good plumber for your needs.

Trenchless plumbing is a type of plumbing that has become increasingly popular in recent years.

This form of plumbing, also known as “no-dig” or “pipe bursting” can save homeowners from the hassle and mess caused by traditional repairs – but many people are still unaware of this new technology!

If you need sewer pipe repairs, then you should consider a team of expert plumbers in Atlanta, Georgia who are trained in using trenchless technologies. There are several different types of trenchless plumbing repairs. Here’s a list of them: Pipe Bursting Method, Cured-in-place Pipe (CIPP).

What is pipe bursting? It’s baiting an old sewer pipe to cause it to burst and then installing a new one in its place. The process of bursting the pipe is done with an expander head, pulling rods, a pulling machine, a retaining device, and a hydraulic power pack.

Basically, the bursting head is pulled through the old pipe from inside until it bursts open. As it’s being pulled through the old pipe, it’s pulling the new pipe behind it.

Pipe bursting is often the most cost-effective solution to replace a sewer line.

Are there any common problems with the Pipe Bursting Method?

An abundance of head movement coming from the percussive bursts could cause significant ground movement, possibly damaging nearby structures.

There’s also the risk of ground heave occurring with shallow pipes.

If you’re in need of plumbing services, it’s important that you find an experienced plumber who can help with trenchless plumbing. Not all methods are created equal when it comes to repairing your sewer pipe. At Zippy Plumber we specialize in trenchless technology for sewer line repairs in Atlanta GA – but there are many different types of procedures available on the market today, so be sure

What is Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) method?

Cured-in-place pipe, also known as CIPP or cured-in-place pipe lining, is a technique for installing new pipes inside of existing pipes. It’s also called cured-in-place pipe rehabilitation. A liner with an epoxy coating is used to line the inner surface of the old sewer system and then when it cures the pressure from outside pushes it against the inner walls. The curing process lasts about 3 hours but will continue for up to 24 hours after installation before finally being ready.

Are there any common problems with the Cured-In-Place Method?

Partial coverage is a common issue. Partial coverage is when the pipe lining isn’t able to extend all the way around a curve in the line. The epoxy coating may not have been applied long enough for it to fully set up and adhere to the pipes or there may be some kind of blockage preventing it from extending past that point.

The only two trenchless sewer repair methods that don’t involve digging are Pipe Bursting Method and Cured-in-Place Pipelining (CIPP) Method.

The last option is the old-school method of digging up your yard and creating a big mess. This method is called the Dig-and-Replace Method.

Summary

With the Pipe Bursting Method, small pipes are pushed into the existing pipe and inflated. With CIPP Method, a fabric tube is pulled through the old pipe and an epoxy mixture is applied as it moves forward. The CIPP process usually takes less than 24 hours before finally being ready for use.
